Why EVERY Business Owner Should be an “Infopreneur” Nowadays

Long gone are the “buy my products because I say so” advertisements…

Today, more and more people are buying products not based on what an advertisement tells them…

But from doing serious research about the product first (thanks to the internet)…

And using the information they gather from the sources they find, to decide if they should buy the product or not.

So, why doesn’t EVERY business owner use information in their marketing?

According to a non-scientific study done by Omar Briones (CEO of infopreneur Agency):

In 2016 and beyond, there has never been a better time to position yourself as the “infopreneur” of your industry to stand out as the leading authority that everyone comes to like and trust.

He theorizes that the infopreneur space will grow exponentially over the next 5 years, at the same rate technology advances in new ways information is broadcasted.

That being said, you can surely bet that there will be an infopreneur in EVERY single niche and field.

The question is… Are YOU the one that people will learn from and trust when making their purchases?

Or will it be your competition?

Below, I will share 3 examples of different types of businesses (personal service, brick and mortar, and coaching/consulting) that you can make a ton MORE money in, by capitalizing on the infopreneur wave.

Example 1: The “average” local service provider


How can a plumber or an auto-mechanic make money from being an infopreneur?

Let’s say you are a plumber for example… And your goal is to just get people to hire you to service them.

Now… You can obviously do all kinds of marketing, and spend a ton of money on handing out some brochures, paying for some classified ads, or even giving a go at some PPC (pay per click) ads to sell your service online.

But, before you do, ask yourself…

Why would you spend money trying to convince people to buy from you…(?)

When you can very easily have people hire you because they actually value you.

So…. How does it work?


Let’s say you were looking to hire THE BEST plumber you can find.

As in, someone who REALLY knows their stuff, and will go out of their way to help you with your plumbing needs.

So… You start doing some digging around on the internet to find out who that person is.

After just one search, you find a book called:

“The Best Plumber – The Top 7 Qualities to Look For When Hiring Your Next Plumber”

And it’s written by a plumber who also just so happens to have a:

  • Plumbing Customer Satisfaction Course
  • Plumbing Master Certification Program
  • 1,000+ licensed & certified employees, delivering his “best plumbing” technique and service all over the world.

After watching a few of his youtube videos, and reading some articles on his blog, you come to realize, he truly is “the best plumber” in the world… And you’re sure to have one of his certified employees in your immediate area.

Now… Would you even bother looking anywhere else for a plumber…

Or would you call them to book an appointment like ASAP (no matter how much it costs)?

And let’s be honest…

Wouldn’t you feel just a little star struck when you call his office and he’s the one who answers the phone? Heck, I know I would. 🙂

Imagine your customers feeling that way, when they call you to book an appointment?

Example 2: Brick and Mortar…


What can a mom n’ pop shop get out of being an infopreneur?

It’s really quite simple. Let’s take a small grocery store for example.

Nothing special, just a simple plain old grocery store that people buy groceries from.

One day you’re surfing the web, hanging out on social media, and you see this video talking about the problems that your nearby big chain grocery store has.

You learn all kinds of scary stuff you never knew…

Where the food is stored, how awful the employees are treated, and of course let’s not forget about the infestations of rats and animal feces getting into the food.

At the end of the video, you see a mom, a pop, and their two kids inviting you to a download their short 7 page ebook,

“10 Nasty Habits Your Local Grocery Food Chain Is Keeping From You – How to Make Sure You’re Not A Victim”

After (barely getting through) watching that disgusting video, you’re going to take 10 minutes out of your schedule to read that damn ebook.

Before you get to the end of the book, you realize that it just so happens that the authors (the family from the video) own a local grocery store a few hundred miles from you.

By the time you get to the end of the book, you’re seriously considering to pack up your bags and move closer to their store.

That’s when you notice they have a certification program (which of course costs money), that gives their approval to participating local grocery shops near you.

(Oooooh, it gets better)…

You immediately check the local shop near you, and ask them if they are certified by the “mom n’ pop quality approval” program. Of course, they have no idea what you’re talking about…

That’s when you explain what it is, why they need one, and how to get it. You show them the video on your phone, and and that’s when they opt in for the free ebook to find out more.

Are you starting to see the power of this?

This local mom n’ pop shop is not your typical shop.

They have a:

  • Thriving grocery store that’s always packed with happy customers
  • Huge payday every single year from their certification subscription fees
  • Ginormous authority in their industry that NOBODY can compete with!

Do you see the pattern yet?

Final example: The “consultant” / “coach” – my favorite peeps

How can a consultant / coach make more money as an “infopreneur?”

What’s the one thing all consultants and coaches have in common?

Here’s a hint:

They all get paid for their time.

(I guess that wasn’t really just a hint, but anyway)…

The biggest problem with coaches and consultants (asides from not having enough clients) is having too many clients to serve.

The problem is you only have so much time to give, and there are only 24 hours in a day to choose from.

Instead of coaching or consulting one client at a time, try:

  • Group mentoring (guide a group of people through a process together live on conference calls)
  • Training and certifying OTHER coaches and consultants to work on your behalf
  • Creating an online course that walks your clients through the same stuff you would have taught on a one on one call.

Imagine how many more clients you can serve at a time if you had an army of coaches and consultants working on your behalf, which making an additional income on the side from their efforts.

Imagine how many people would want to hire YOU specifically to work with them personally (and pay you MORE money).

What if you didn’t have to teach the same thing over and over again to your clients, and instead just send them to your online video lessons.

Of course, this is just the tip of the iceberg. You can just as easily adapt the same strategies as the personal service and brick and mortar shop examples above.

With an ebook, some videos, some articles, just teaching the basic fundamentals of what you share in your paid programs… People will be interested in hiring you, and you can very easily become the star in your industry.
